How we measure

Each hide is measured at its widest and tallest points. Picture drawing a rectangle around the whole hide so that every tip sits inside it: that rectangle is the measurement we publish. Every product page lists square feet, square metres and numeric dimensions.

Because no two hides share a shape, treat these as close approximations. What they tell you reliably is how much floor the rug will cover.

The sizes we carry

Hides are grouped into tiers you can filter by inside any collection:

  • Medium — around 5' × 6'
  • Large — around 6' × 6'
  • X-Large — around 6' × 7'
  • XX-Large — 7' × 8' and larger

XX-Large is our best selling tier. If you are working to a specific floor area, filter by size first and then browse by colour, rather than the other way round.

Thickness

Our hides run between 1/8" and 1/4" thick. Brazilian hides sit at the thicker, more supple end of that range and feel more luxurious underfoot. European hides are flatter and firmer, which gives a more structured look.

We deliberately avoid thin hides. They curl at the edges, which looks wrong and becomes a trip hazard.

Weight

Expect roughly 8 to 13 pounds depending on size and density. That weight is a quality signal rather than an inconvenience: a substantial hide lies flat and stays where you put it.
